App Store Approval Team On Steroids? (Kidding)

By deans ~ October 2nd, 2009. Filed under: Observations.

I can’t help but wonder if the staff of the App Store Approval team has started boosting.  Their recent productivity certainly seems to indicate some sort of performance enhancing agents (in a very good way).  We recently went through a dry period of nearly two months where nothing was being approved.  I was just about ready to give up, and then… BAM!  Here are our recent updates:

  APP Title Vers. Submit Approve
  iPuckLite v1.0 Aug-04 Sept-23
  TiltBall v1.0 Sept-01 Sept-23
  TiltBallLite v1.0 Sept-01 Oct-11
  RingDance v1.1 Sept-17 Sept-24
  RingDanceLite v1.0 Sept-17 Sept-28
  iPuck v1.2.1 Sept-21 Sept-30
  iPuckLite v1.0.1 Sept-23 Oct-06
  iPuck v1.3 Oct-02 Oct-15
  iPuckLite v1.1 Oct-06 Oct-16
  TiltBallLite v1.0.1 Oct 11 Oct 20

The v1.1 version of iPuckLite is built and sitting on my hard drive, ready to submit as soon as v1.0.1 is approved.

I have may have been a tiny bit hard on the App Store review process in the past, but the recent approval times are not too bad.  I can live with a turnaround at 7 – 9 days.  Let’s just hope that this is the new normal, not simply a burst of performance…
